My dear friends Mark and Betsy are getting married in a couple of weekends — yay!
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they’re going to have wedding cupcakes. And they asked me to draw a wedding topper to stick onto each cupcake. This is basically what it’ll look like.
Kinda fun; I just wish I was better at likenesses.
So cute! That’s awesome.
thanks, nooshy!
Not knowing what they look like IRL, I think this looks great! You could tell me Jaime Hernandez drew it and I would almost believe it.
aw, man. you are too kind. TOO kind.
Awesome! That’s going to look really cool when there is a whole bunch of them together!
yeah, it’ll be like a Rev. Sun Yung Moon wedding, with a hundred brides & grooms!
That looks really cool AND it looks like them! Good work.
thanks and thanks AND thanks.
Josh, it’s great! I wish I had a picture of the living dead wedding topper from Randi and Joe’s cake. I think you’d like that, too, though if they will eventually resemble it, I don’t want to know.
Nice work – a super gift to friends!
they had a zombie wedding topper?!?!?!?!?
No doubt, boo! I guess you were never the recipient of her green b-day cake specials…. Speaking of which, 753 days till I turn 40.
Who listens to what music?
Hello. Good day
Who listens to what music?
I Love songs Justin Timberlake and Paris Hilton
Because I’ve been hearing from folks interested in doing this for themselves, here’s how Mark & Betsy created the toppers:
They took the artwork and printed it on regular white card stock. They matched up the front and back as best they could and cut around them at the same time — so that they’d match when they stuck them together. The picks were flat “party picks” by a company called Amscan. They bought them at a party store in West Hartford, CT. They used a Kolo photo tape “gun” to adhere the two sides of the topper to the stick and each other.
